Near the Domaine de Puychene, seven Michelin-starred restaurants offer unforgettable gastronomic adventures.

One of them is just 35 minutes from our charming gites in Puychene.

L’ALERNATIVE is located in the heart of the historic centre of Béziers, a very pretty little Mediterranean town in Occitanie.

Béziers is in the Hérault department, which borders the Aude department, and the two departments share a very privileged environment. It is in the heart of vine-covered valleys and hills that the Mediterranean sea breeze brings its iodised subtleties to the various generous and fruity grape varieties.

This fledgling restaurant was opened in January 2021 and quickly established its credentials, being awarded a Michelin star in March 2022, eight months after its opening… At the helm of the restaurant is Quentin Pellestor, trained by two of the great masters of French gastronomy. (Gilles Goujon and Franck Putelat, each with three Michelin stars). He is accompanied by Enzo and Axel, one a pastry chef, the other a cook.

The fairies and other elves have been bending over the cradles of these two talented young people who are brothers. Born into a family of chefs, they were trained at the school of Gilles Goujon, their father and mentor who created the Auberge de Fonjoncouse, an establishment awarded three Michelin stars. Their father gave them the opportunity to stand on their own two feet under the watchful eye of Quentin Pellestor. Through their commitment and their ability to create their own path, they will continue this line of great chefs. All three have chosen to invent a cuisine inspired by the sea and plants. You won’t find any meat-based dishes. Only fish, shellfish and other seafood are given pride of place in their establishment.
