From our charming rentals, you can enjoy the diversity of activities and landscapes of the Aude department, as well as the rich and diverse heritage of the neighbouring Hérault department. The beautiful town of Beziers is just 35 minutes from our charming lodging.

There are plenty of activities to discover around our lodging, with swimming pool between Narbonne and Carcassonne: the countryside lends itself to magnificent walks and cycle rides, and the sea is so close…

From our charming lodging, you can go for a ride on an electric or muscle bike, using the equipment of a nearby professional bike hire company, whose contact details you can give us. We recommend some very pretty roads between the canal and the garrigue, or to magnificent villages such as Minerve. You can also take the time to stop off at one of the good places we recommend.

Narbonne (14 kilometers from our gites) is accessible by TGV from Paris, Lyon and many other French and foreign cities. You can discover the city’s historic heritage, particularly its rich Roman past.

For example, you can visit the new Roman Museum “Narbo Via”, built by Norman Foster, as part of a group or private visit.

The richness of its historical heritage and its reconstructions will give you an idea of the influence of this capital in Roman times. Its port was one of the busiest in the Mediterranean, a place for importing and exporting the products needed at the time, particularly amphorae.

In the heart of a small authentic Aude village between Carcassonne and Narbonne, the Domaine de Puychene offers you a peaceful place to relax in a garden planted with trees.

Each charming gite has its own private terrace in a flower-filled park with many Mediterranean species, so you’ll feel right at home. Outside the school holidays, this is the perfect place to relax, contemplate, listen to the birdsong (we’re on the route of the great migrations) or read by the pool.

The swimming pool is heated in September, October, April and May and is located in the center of the estate.

The estate is made up of 10 charming gites that allow couples or friends to come together without sharing the same house. Everyone can spend time together and keep their privacy if they wish.

Our charming gites with swimming pool are located very close to the canal du midi:

The Canal du Midi is less than two kilometers away, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.  It was built in the 18th century by Pierre Paul Riquet and was the second largest construction site in France after the Château de Versailles.

It runs for 240 km and features 65 locks, including the 9 at Fonseranes-les-Beziers (close to our charming gites), which used to be used to transport goods. Today, the Canal du Midi is one of France’s leading river tourism destinations. You can walk to the towpath from our charming gites.  You can also refresh yourself and eat in the restaurants along the way, or enjoy a trip on the barge.

The proximity of major towns in the south of France such as Perpignan, Béziers and Montpellier also means that you can enjoy a variety of activities between town and country. Medium-sized towns such as Pézenas and Collioure offer a wide variety of architectural perspectives, as does Narbonne and Carcassonne.  Guided tours can be organised on request.
